4 Weeks!

Cooper is 4 weeks old today! We went to the doctor for her one month check-up this morning and were so excited to get to see how much weight she has gained. Since her one week check-up, she has gained 2 whole pounds! She weighs 8 lbs 13 oz and is 21 inches long. The doctor was very impressed with her weight gain and said that she looks just perfect! But we already knew that...

Cooper's Room

Cooper's room is finally finished! It may look a little familiar, but there are a few differences! :) Here is her bed and her name above it. Gigi and Aunt Val made her letters and they turned out so cute! We just love them and were so excited to get them hung this weekend.

Here's a close-up of the letters. They used 3D letters, covered them in scrapbook paper, and put little accents on them. The sides are painted a chocolate brown color...so cute!
Here is the bulletin board the girls made and gave us at Cooper's shower. I love it!

I raised her crib today, so it is ready for her to sleep in whenever we are ready to move her in there! She is still sleeping in our room in the bassinet, but we moved Kendall to her bed around 4 weeks, so we'll see what we end up doing with Cooper!

Three Weeks Old!

Cooper is 3 weeks old today! She is definitely gaining weight and doing great. She's still eating and sleeping great, waking up just once at night. We go see the doctor a week from today for her one month check up and we can't wait to see how she's doing!

Visitors!

This past weekend, Cooper had visitors! Gigi, Peeps, and Grandma Dane came down to Lake Jackson to play with the girls and to build them a play house for the backyard! Kendall has been wanting one, so Peeps and Dad built it this weekend. It rained the whole time they were here, so they weren't able to finish painting, but it looks great!
Gigi also brought the letters that her and Aunt Val made for Cooper's wall over her crib. They are so cute and I can't wait to post pictures - I just have a few more things to finish before I take pictures of the whole room!

Here's the last picture I took of the house. Peeps worked on it more on Sunday, and added the swings for both girls, flower boxes, a step, a coach light, and a doorbell. Now it just needs paint!

First Bottle

Cooper had her very first bottle on Thursday night! Randy gave it to her and she sucked it down so fast! She is so smart. :)

Cooper's Newborn Pictures

This past weekend our friend Jenny Hintze took Cooper's newborn pictures for us! We were so excited about it, and even more excited when we saw the first pictures from the shoot. Jenny does such a great job and we were so thankful that she took the girls' pictures! Here are some of the pictures she took.

Check Kendall's blog for more pictures of her and her little sister!! Thanks again, Jenny!

2 Weeks!

Today is Cooper's 2 week birthday! These first few pictures aren't from today, but I just found them and thought I would share!
She makes some of the funniest faces! I'm not sure the pictures actually captured this face very well, but she had her lips all scrinched up. She's so cute!

We're starting to wear big bows now! I had to go find a headband that was small enough for her head!

Here are the official 2 week old pictures I (tried) to take today. It was not easy to get her to sit up! Here are the attempts at sitting in the chair...

...poor baby...
...and finally I just let her lay on her tummy. We'll keep trying for those sitting up pictures!
And here she is all stretched out on the changing table. She is already getting so big - we can really already tell a difference from two weeks ago. She still has little chicken legs and arms, though! But we're working on that! Oh - and her cord fell off last night! She's officially cordless. What a big girl!

Today was a school day for Kendall, so Cooper and I enjoyed spending some time just the two of us this morning. I'm so thankful that Kendall gets to go to school - she loves it, has a great time, and it gives me some alone time with Coop and time to work on school, housework, run errands, etc. It's great for everyone!
Cooper is doing so great at 2 weeks. She is eating great, sleeping great, and we are starting to get on a schedule that really works well. Sunday morning we started having an official "first feeding" of the day (Babywise) and this has really helped us be able to plan our mornings and days better. We were feeding her last like at 11:30, she would sleep until 5 or so, eat, go back to sleep, and then not wake up to eat until 8 or 9. This was just too late for us to be starting our day, so we bumped back the last feeding to 10:30, she wakes up (or I wake her up) between 3 and 4 to eat again, she goes right back to sleep, and then either she wakes up or we wake her at 7:30 for her first feeding of the day. That means her schedule is 7:30, 10:30, 1:30, 4:30, 7:30, 10:30, and then a middle of the night feeding. It is working out great and gives me time to feed her in the morning, get ready, and get Kendall up and ready for the day.
Happy 2 week birthday, Coop!

Daddy/Daughter Time

Since we got the green light from Cooper's doctor to let her sleep as long as she will go at night, we've been trying to make her last feeding somewhere between 11 and 12 each night. Then we go to bed and she's been sleeping until 4:30 or 5:30 each morning! Before that last feeding, though, Cooper has some time with her daddy. They sit together and Randy gives her the sass to try and hold her off until that last feeding.

I love these two so much!!

First Bath

We gave Cooper her first bath tonight! Don't judge - we know she's a week old - but she still has her cord and we just haven't been in as much of a hurry as we were with Kendall. :)
She didn't like it very much.

But once we got her out and wrapped her up, she was better.

Such a sweet little burrito!

Tummy Time

Cooper has been enjoying spending some time on her tummy lately!
She can even lift her head up and turn it from side to side! She's so strong! This is one of the funniest faces we think she makes.
Resting in the pink chair.
Sisters having tummy time. :) Kendall loves her little sister so much and always says, "Pease check on baby Cooper?" or "Pease touch baby Cooper?" We have to watch her closely because she just loves her so much!
